Wet wall isn't a single product — it's a market of around a dozen brands at different quality and price points. The cheap ones look cheap; the premium ones look like real stone. Most customers Google "best wet wall UK" and end up reading affiliate-driven Top 10 lists. This is what we'd actually tell you, based on fitting all six of these brands in real bathrooms across central Scotland.
What Actually Differentiates the Brands
Four practical things move quality between wet wall brands:
- Print quality. Premium brands use high-resolution photographic print over a deeper substrate; budget brands use simpler prints that read as printed at close inspection. The difference is most visible in stone- and marble-effect ranges.
- Panel thickness. 10mm panels are the standard premium spec; 8mm is mid-market; 6–8mm is budget. Thicker panels feel more substantial and resist impact damage better.
- Finish range. Premium brands carry 30–50 finishes including matte options; budget brands carry 6–12 finishes mostly in gloss white or basic tile-effect.
- Joint system. Premium brands use proper hidden tongue-and-groove or hairline joint systems; budget brands rely on visible aluminium trims.
Multipanel (Premium Leader)
Made in: Glasgow. The biggest UK wet wall manufacturer, headquartered in Lanarkshire. Genuinely a local product.
Best for: stone-effect finishes (their Linda Barker range is the best in the market), large bathrooms where the print quality really shows, premium fits where the panels are a feature.
- Print quality: Excellent — high-resolution photographic print, indistinguishable from real stone at three feet
- Thickness: 10mm
- Finish range: 50+ designs across stone, marble, tile-effect, plain, wood and concrete
- Joint: Hidden hydrolock tongue-and-groove (genuinely invisible)
- Warranty: 30 years
- Typical retail price: £180–£280 per 2.4m × 1.2m panel
Our default brand for any Premium or Luxury bathroom fit. The Glasgow manufacturing means short lead times for us — usually 5–7 days from order to delivery.
Showerwall (Middle-Market)
Made in: UK (Bushboard manufacturing).
Best for: the broadest mainstream range, properties where consistency matters more than top-end print quality, refurbs where the customer's already seen the product in a nearby bathroom.
- Print quality: Good — solid mid-market quality, reads well from normal viewing distance
- Thickness: 10mm (Premium and Proclick ranges) or 8mm (basic range)
- Finish range: 35+ designs, particularly strong on concrete and tile-effect
- Joint: Proclick hidden joint (very good) or visible trim (basic)
- Warranty: 30 years
- Typical retail price: £120–£200 per panel
Excellent value. Our second-most-fitted brand and our default on Premium-tier bathroom packages when the customer prefers a specific Showerwall finish.
Nuance by Bushboard
Made in: UK (Bushboard's premium range).
Best for: exceptional marble-effect detail, ultra-realistic premium finishes, design-led fits where the panel is a hero element.
- Print quality: Outstanding — best-in-class on marble and natural stone effect
- Thickness: 11mm
- Finish range: 25+ designs, mostly premium stone, marble and concrete
- Joint: Hidden tongue-and-groove
- Warranty: 30 years
- Typical retail price: £200–£320 per panel
The brand we'd specify for our Bespoke luxury bathroom fits. Slightly thinner-feeling than Multipanel but the marble print quality is genuinely superior.
Aquaboard (Budget Solid)
Made in: UK.
Best for: rentals, second bathrooms, budget refits where price is the deciding factor and the customer doesn't need premium finish range.
- Print quality: Adequate — basic prints, fine at distance, reads as printed close up
- Thickness: 8mm
- Finish range: 12 designs, mostly white, basic stone-effect, basic tile-effect
- Joint: Visible aluminium trim
- Warranty: 15 years
- Typical retail price: £80–£140 per panel
Honest read: it does the job. We fit it on Starter-tier bathroom packages for customers prioritising the cost saving. It won't look like Multipanel, but it'll keep water out for 15+ years.
Mermaid (Budget Tile-Effect)
Best for: tile-effect specifically. Wider tile-effect range than Aquaboard at a similar price point.
- Print quality: Adequate
- Thickness: 8mm
- Finish range: 15+ designs, dominated by tile-effects
- Joint: Visible trim
- Warranty: 15 years
- Typical retail price: £90–£150 per panel
Niche fit when the customer wants a tile-effect finish without the budget for a premium brand. We'd usually steer toward Aquaboard or Showerwall instead.
IPC by AquaPaneling
Best for: dramatic feature finishes, full-room concrete-effect fits, design statements.
- Print quality: Excellent on the dramatic ranges (raw concrete, dark moody stone)
- Thickness: 10mm
- Finish range: 20+ designs, smaller than the leaders but more design-led
- Joint: Hidden joint system
- Warranty: 25 years
- Typical retail price: £180–£260 per panel
Niche premium. We'd specify for design-led customers who already know they want a specific dramatic finish that the bigger ranges don't carry.

Important: brand alone doesn't make a wet wall last. Substrate prep, hidden joint installation, and silicone work matter as much as the panel itself. A budget panel fitted properly outlasts a premium panel fitted poorly.
