Our Guarantee

Don't pay a penny until your bathroom is finished and you're completely happy

No deposit. No staged payments. 12-month workmanship guarantee in writing.

The Fitted Bathrooms Cumbernauld Promise

"Done properly" is easy to say, so here are three things you can actually check when we've finished. Hot water reaching a bath shouldn't exceed 48°C — Scottish guidance sets that to prevent scalds, and we fit a thermostatic mixing valve to hold it there. Fixed electrical work is designed, installed and tested to BS 7671, and the certificate is yours. And where we alter a waste connection, we dye-test it rather than assume it runs where the last fitter thought it did.

Scottish Government, Domestic Technical Handbook, April 2026 — clause 4.9.5 (hot water to a bath), Standard 4.5 (electrical), Standard 3.7 (drainage).

Most national chains protect themselves first and the customer second. Their contracts read like a list of things they're not responsible for. Ours reads like a list of things we are. Here's what we guarantee, in plain English, before any work starts on your home.

01
You don't pay until you're happy

No deposit at quote stage. No money up front. No staged payments during the install. We invoice once the job is complete, you've walked through it with the fitter, and you've signed it off as done to your satisfaction. If something isn't right, we fix it before the invoice goes anywhere near you.

02
The price quoted is the price you pay

Every quote is a fixed written price. If we find something genuinely unforeseen — collapsed soil pipe behind the cladding, hidden joist rot under the existing floor — we stop, show you, and price the additional work clearly in writing. We never bill for changes we haven't agreed with you first.

03
12-month workmanship guarantee

Every fit we complete in Cumbernauld carries a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship. If anything we installed or finished fails because of how we did it — leaking silicone, lifting LVT, a wet-wall joint that opens — we come back and fix it. No charge, no quibble, no "wear and tear" excuse.

04
The team that designs it is the team that fits it

No subcontractors. The person who measures your bathroom and quotes the job is the same person who turns up to fit it. You get one phone number, one point of contact, and the same faces from start to finish. If something needs a return visit, the people who know the job are the ones who come back. Meet the fitting team.

How "Don't Pay Until Happy" Actually Works

A real description of the payment timeline. We're not vague about it — vagueness is where chain contracts hide their deposit clauses.

01

Home visit

Free. No charge for the visit, no charge for the quote. You owe nothing if you decide not to proceed.

02

Quote accepted

You sign the written quote. No deposit requested. We order the materials and book the work into our schedule on our own cash.

03

Installation week

The crew works your bathroom for 5–9 days depending on scope. No interim invoices, no "halfway-through" payment request, nothing to pay.

04

Walk-through & sign-off

When the job's done, the fitter walks you through every detail. Anything you flag — silicone bead, snag, finish — gets fixed before sign-off. Only then does the invoice land. Paid by bank transfer or finance, your choice.

Materials & Manufacturer Warranties

The components that go into your bathroom carry their own warranties from the makers. We supply, install and register them — and we hold the paperwork so you don't have to find it in five years' time.

01
Wet wall panels — 10-year manufacturer warranty

Our standard wet wall panels carry a 10-year warranty against delamination and water-ingress failure. If a panel fails in normal use within that window, the manufacturer replaces the panel and we refit it free.

02
LVT flooring — 15 to 25 years residential warranty

Premium LVT carries a residential wear warranty of 15–25 years depending on the range. Subject to normal household use, the wear layer is guaranteed against pattern-through.

03
Mira / Hansgrohe / Crosswater showers & brassware — 5-year+ warranties

The shower valves and brassware we fit carry manufacturer warranties of 5–10 years on the cartridge and finish. We register them in your name at install — you don't need to send anything off.

04
WC, basin, bath — 10 to 25-year ceramic warranties

Standard sanitaryware carries long ceramic warranties from the maker. Genuine ceramic faults (cracking on installation, surface defects) are replaced under warranty; we refit free.

05
LED mirrors & heated towel rails — 2 to 5-year electrical warranties

Mirror driver units and towel-rail elements carry their own electrical warranties. If the LED driver fails within warranty we replace the unit and rewire — you don't pay for either.

06
Silicone & sealants — re-run free in year one

Silicone is a wear item, not a permanent material. If a silicone joint starts to fail within the first 12 months, we'll come back and re-run it free. After 12 months it's chargeable but quick.

What's Covered, What Isn't

An honest list. We'd rather you knew the limits upfront than discovered them when something went wrong.

Covered by our guarantee

  • Workmanship faults — anything we installed that fails because of how we did it
  • Silicone re-runs in the first 12 months
  • Wet wall joints opening or lifting
  • LVT lifting at the edges
  • Plumbing connections we made that leak
  • Electrical connections we made that fail
  • Tile or panel adhesion failure where we did the prep
  • Shower drainage that doesn't fall correctly
  • Brassware fitted at the wrong height or out of alignment

Not covered (honest list)

  • Damage caused by impact, dropped items, or modifications by others
  • Water damage from misuse (overflowing the basin, leaving taps running)
  • Pre-existing issues in pipework outside the bathroom that surface later
  • Customer-supplied materials we fitted but did not supply
  • Cosmetic wear and tear (light scuffs on chrome, mineral spotting on glass)
  • Issues caused by lack of basic maintenance (silicone left dirty for years)
  • Damage from another trade working in the bathroom after we left
  • Force-majeure events (subsidence, flooding, frost damage in unheated property)

How to Make a Claim

If something we fitted has gone wrong, the route to a fix is short. We don't operate a separate "claims department" — you contact the same number you'd call for any other reason, and the same people deal with it.

01
Phone or message

Call 01236 801802, message us on WhatsApp, or email quote@fittedbathroomscumbernauld.co.uk. Send a photo or short video if you can — it usually tells us what's needed before we visit.

02
Same-week visit

For genuine workmanship issues, we aim to be back at the property within 5 working days. For an active leak or anything where the room is unusable, we'll be back within 24–48 hours.

03
Assess and fix in one visit if possible

Most return visits are 30 minutes to an hour. Silicone re-run, panel re-seat, valve adjustment — same crew, fresh kit, sorted. If it needs a part on order, we'll tell you the day it lands and book the follow-up.

04
No charge for warranty work

If it's covered, you don't pay. We don't invoice "call-out fees" then waive them. Either it's our fault to fix or it isn't — we tell you which honestly, in person.

Guarantee Questions

The questions worth asking before any bathroom fitter starts work on your home.

Is the "don't pay until happy" promise actually in writing?

Yes. It's printed on every written quote we issue, with the payment terms set out plainly. You sign the quote knowing what you owe (nothing until completion) and when you owe it (after walk-through and sign-off). There is no separate small-print clause that contradicts it.

What if I'm unhappy at sign-off — what then?

We don't ask for the invoice to be paid until you've signed off. If there's something genuinely wrong with the finish, we fix it before the invoice is raised — that's the whole point of the policy. In 15+ years of trading we've yet to leave a job unpaid because we couldn't resolve a finishing issue.

How does the 12-month workmanship guarantee work in practice?

From the date of completion, you have 12 months in which anything we installed or finished that fails because of how we did it gets put right at no cost. You phone or message us, we visit, we fix. We log all returns so we know what's improving and what's not — your project's covered, but it also feeds into how we work on the next one.

What happens after the 12 months are up?

Materials remain covered by their manufacturer warranties (often 5–25 years — see above). Workmanship past 12 months isn't free, but rate-card. We come back, fix it, invoice for time and materials at the rate quoted in the original job pack. Most former customers find it cheaper than calling a stranger.

Are you insured?

Yes. Public liability and employers' liability insurance in force. Certificate available on request — we'll bring a copy to the home visit if you'd like to see it.

Do you offer extended guarantees?

The Luxury package (£7,995) includes an extended workmanship guarantee. For Starter and Premium, the standard 12 months applies. We don't sell separate "warranty top-ups" — we'd rather build the right amount of guarantee into the price than upsell it as an add-on.

What if I move house — does the guarantee transfer to the new owner?

The 12-month workmanship guarantee is between us and the homeowner at the time of installation. It doesn't automatically transfer if the property is sold. Manufacturer warranties on materials may transfer depending on the maker — we can advise per item.

From Visit to Finished Room in 3 Steps

A clear path from first phone call to a bathroom that is properly done.

1

Free Home Design Visit

We arrive with samples, a laser measure and a notebook. The visit happens at your kitchen table rather than a showroom, takes around an hour, and ends with a fixed written quote in your hand. No pressure to commit on the day, and no follow up sales calls.

2

Choose Your Spec

Pick the wet wall finish, the LVT colourway, the brassware and the fixtures from a curated short list. Every sample comes with us to the home visit, so you see each option against your existing décor in your own lighting rather than under retail showroom lights.

3

Installation by Our Team

Our salaried fitters install the bathroom over five to seven working days. Floors are protected from the front door inward, the work zone is tidied at the close of every shift, and the final balance is not paid until you have walked the finished room and signed it off.
