Two Reasons People Choose a Walk-in
The worry we hear most is whether there's actually room. Here's a test you can do before we visit: Scottish accessibility guidance works to a 1.0 m × 1.0 m level-access area, or a 900 mm × 900 mm tray, as workable benchmarks. Take a tape to where your bath sits now. In most Cumbernauld bathrooms — including the compact New Town flats — there's more room than people expect once the bath comes out.

The other half are for accessibility: widening the doorway, removing the step, fitting a low-profile tray, or going fully tanked to a wet-room finish. The older original New Town population is ageing in place, and a growing share of our work involves keeping people in the home they've owned since the 1970s rather than moving them out of it.
