How much does a fitted bathroom cost in Cumbernauld?

Is the price fixed, or is it an estimate?
Fixed. We give you a written quote at the home visit. The price doesn't move unless you change the specification — for example, if you switch from wet wall to floor-to-ceiling tile mid-job, or add an extra unit that wasn't on the original drawings. No surveyor turning up post-deposit to "revise" the number.
Are there hidden extras for skip hire, waste removal or labour?
No. Skip drop, skip uplift, dust sheets, all rubbish removal and full labour are included. The only thing you'd pay for outside the quote is a structural change you ask us to add later — moving a load-bearing wall, for instance.
Why are you cheaper than a national chain like Wickes or Wren?
Two reasons. First, we don't run showrooms. National chains have rent on prime retail space, which the customer ultimately pays for. Second, we don't subcontract. National chains quote, take a deposit, and then send the work to a local fitter — adding a margin in between. We do both halves of the job ourselves, so the price is what we charge, not what we charge plus what someone else charges.
Timing & Installation
How long does a bathroom fit take?
A standard Cumbernauld bathroom fit is 5–7 working days from strip-out to final clean. We give you a date range at the quote stage and stick to it — we're not juggling five jobs across subcontractors. Day-by-day breakdown here.
What's the wait between booking and starting?
Usually two to three weeks from the home visit to the day we start. Sometimes shorter, occasionally longer — it depends on the order book and the materials. We'll give you an honest start date at the quote stage, not an optimistic one.
Will I be without a bathroom for the whole time?
Yes — assume the bathroom is out of action for the full install. If you have a second bathroom or downstairs WC, you can carry on as normal. If you only have one bathroom, plan for a friend's house or short-term arrangement. We can't fit around partial use without doubling the job time.
Can you do the strip-out and fit faster than 5 days?
Sometimes. A small bathroom with no plumbing changes and a wet wall finish can complete in 4 days. A full layout change with relocated soil stack and underfloor heating can run to 7 or 8. Honest answer: we don't compress timelines just to win the job.
Finance & Payment
Do you offer 0% finance?
Yes. 0% APR interest-free finance is available on any package, with no deposit required — from around £67/month for the £3,699 Starter package. Subject to status and a standard affordability check. We run through the finance options at the home visit if it's something you want to explore.
Do you take a deposit?
For cash customers, we take a small deposit at the quote-acceptance stage to confirm the start date, and the balance on completion — once you've walked through the finished room and signed it off. For finance customers, no deposit is required at any stage.
Don't pay until you're happy — what does that actually mean?
Final payment is only released when you've inspected the bathroom, used it for a day or two if you want, and confirmed in writing that you're happy with it. Snags are fixed before you settle — not after.
Design & Planning
Do I need to come to a showroom?
No. We come to you. Free home design visit at your kitchen table — we measure the exact space, bring real samples so you can see colours and finishes in your own light, and give you a fixed written quote on the day.
Can I see examples of your work before booking?
Yes. We bring photos of recent local fits to the home visit, and there's a portfolio on the gallery page. We can also give you the address of a recent install if you want to see one in person — subject to the homeowner's permission.
Can I supply my own fixtures?
Generally no. Our fixed pricing relies on us controlling the supply chain — if a customer-supplied tap leaks two months in, the warranty becomes a maze. We can match almost any spec from our supplier list, and if you've got something specific in mind, mention it at the home visit.
Will you give me the design and let me get other quotes?
Honest answer: no, we don't release the drawings. But we'll happily walk through layout options at the home visit so you understand what's possible — even if you decide to go elsewhere afterwards. Most of our customers are comparing 2–3 quotes and we expect that.
Building Regulations & Warrants
Do I need a Building Warrant for a bathroom refit in Scotland?
Almost never for a like-for-like refit. You'd need one if you're moving load-bearing walls, altering the building's drainage or making structural changes. A standard strip-and-fit — new wet wall, new flooring, new fixtures — generally falls under the Schedule 3 exemptions in the Scottish Building Standards.
Two things worth knowing, because they catch people out. First, the work still has to meet building standards even when no warrant is needed — exempt from the paperwork is not exempt from the rules. Second, flats and maisonettes don't get the same broad exemption as houses, which matters a great deal in Cumbernauld given how much of the town is deck-access and mid-rise. Do you handle the electrics certification?
Yes. All electrical work is certified to BS 7671 by a qualified electrician on our team — Part P-equivalent under Scottish Building Standards. You get the certificate after completion. Bathroom zoning (IP44 / IP65 fittings, RCD-protected circuits, supplementary bonding where needed) is handled correctly as standard.
What about ventilation regulations?
Scottish Building Standards require mechanical ventilation in any bathroom without an opening window, and a minimum extract rate of 15 litres per second. We fit a quality extractor with humidity sensor as standard on every job — not the cheapest option, because the cheapest options fail within three years.
Mess, Access & Disruption
How much mess does a bathroom fit make?
Honestly, some — strip-out generates dust no matter what. We protect the route from the front door to the bathroom with dust sheets and corner protectors before any tools come in, sweep at the end of every day, and bag the strip-out so it's not piling up in your hallway.
What about the skip?
We handle skip drop and uplift ourselves. It's not sitting on your driveway — or on a Kildrum deck-access walkway — for a fortnight after the job finishes. Most of the strip-out goes straight in the van and never sees a skip at all.
Will the fitters need parking?
Typically yes — we bring a long-wheelbase van for the duration of the job. Off-street parking is ideal. On the older council-era streets in Kildrum, Seafar and Carbrain we plan around resident parking; on the newer Balloch and Smithstone estates the driveway works fine.
Guarantees & Aftercare
What's the guarantee on the work?
Workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months on every fit. Manufacturer warranties on the fixtures and fittings vary — typically 5 years on the wet wall panels, 2 years on the LED mirror, 10 years on the LVT flooring. We hand over the paperwork and registration details on completion day.
What if something goes wrong six months later?
Call us on the same number. We're a local team — we don't disappear after the cheque clears. Most call-backs are minor and we get to them within a few days.
How do I look after wet wall and LVT?
Wet wall: warm soapy water and a soft cloth. No abrasives, no bleach. LVT: vacuum or sweep, damp mop occasionally, and don't drag heavy furniture across it. Both finishes are 100x more forgiving than tile-and-grout — but they're not indestructible.
