Modern Slavery Policy

Our commitment to ethical practices and safe working conditions

Last updated: April 2026

Introduction

Fitted Bathrooms Cumbernauld is committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all of our business dealings and relationships. Modern slavery — including human trafficking, forced labour, servitude and child labour — is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery in our own operations and in our supply chain.

About This Statement

Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires UK businesses with an annual turnover of £36 million or more to publish an annual slavery and human trafficking statement. Fitted Bathrooms Cumbernauld is a small bathroom fitting business operating in Cumbernauld and the surrounding area, and our turnover is below this threshold. We are therefore not legally required to publish a statement.

We have chosen to publish this policy voluntarily because we believe ethical conduct should not depend on company size, and because our customers, staff and suppliers deserve to know where we stand.

Our Business

Fitted Bathrooms Cumbernauld designs, supplies and installs fitted bathrooms in homes across Cumbernauld and the surrounding area. We employ our own fitting team — we do not use subcontractors — and we source materials from a small number of established UK suppliers and manufacturers.

Our Commitments

In the running of our business we commit to:

  • Pay at or above the National Living Wage to every member of our directly-employed team, regardless of role.
  • Provide safe working conditions on every job, including the correct PPE, manual handling training, and a safe site set-up in the customer's home.
  • Verify the right to work in the UK for every person we employ, before they start.
  • Source from established UK suppliers wherever practical, and prefer suppliers who can demonstrate their own modern slavery and ethical sourcing commitments.
  • Take any concerns seriously — if a member of staff, a customer, or a supplier raises a concern about modern slavery or working conditions in connection with our business, we will investigate it and act on it.

Our Supply Chain

Our supply chain is short and UK-focused. The bathroom suites, wet wall panels, LVT flooring, taps, showers and accessories we install are bought from UK distributors and manufacturers. Where we have a direct relationship with a supplier, we expect them to meet UK employment law and to have their own anti-slavery measures in place. Where we buy through a distributor, we rely on that distributor's own due diligence on the manufacturers it stocks.

We acknowledge that the further down a supply chain you go — particularly into raw materials and overseas manufacturing — the harder full visibility becomes. We are honest about this limit. What we can do, and do, is choose suppliers who take the issue seriously, and stop using any supplier who does not.

Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as our business grows or as the suppliers and circumstances we work with change.
